Dear Uncle Russ: In your opinion what are the best "types" of products that lend themselves to Network marketing distribution? Cindy D. from Crystal Lake, Il
Dear Cindy, There are two schools of thought on this subject. Some think it is better to have a high ticket item with a large direct commission pay and the "residual" coming from coded bonuses on alternating lines that pay through infinity. For my taste, I prefer consumables, particularly in the health, wellness, or skincare business. Why? First of all, you can't ever "saturate" a market with a consumable product.  Second, there is what I call the "Eternal Market." People will always be "open to buying" or listening for a product or products that promise to make them look better, feel better, or live longer. Is it any surprise then why so many companies in MLM choose to compete for these customers?

Dear Uncle Russ: Why do you think many Affiliate and Network Marketers struggle with staying consistent in their businesses? Stephanie from Indiana
Dear Stephanie: There may be several reasons but the one that stands out for me is I believe consistency comes from planning. My observation is that there is no shortage of people who are willing to work HARD doing what they think will make money, only to realize that the harder they work the less attractive their opportunity becomes to others. Slow and steady wins the race, just ask the tortoise that beat the bunny rabbit. If you create a plan with a measurable duplicatable effort and a daily action that brings about a monthly goal, that moves you steadily to a 12-month objective, it will go a long way to keep you from flopping around convincing yourself you are going somewhere when you are actually just "spinning your wheels."

Dear Uncle Russ: Why does Network Marketing have such a high attrition rate? D. Thompson _____ Ashtabula, OH
Dear D.: A wonderful coach and mentor of mine once said that the formula for a breakdown is an expectation not being met. I believe many people expect Network marketing to provide something that it can't or doesn't. It is simply a system of distribution. No system, company, or individual, can provide success. It takes vision and personal responsibility. So if someone expects that financial freedom will occur by chance or being in something at the right time, they are, in my opinion, setting themselves up for disappointment. It takes vision, thoughtfulness, commitment, and hard work...but the results can be far more rewarding than almost any other profession. Not just because it pays well and is not time or capital-intensive, but because it presents an opportunity to change people's lives for the better.
