With over 15 years of experience as a social media trainer and over 34 years as a sales and marketing specialist, I have witnessed numerous changes in how we market our businesses and present our profiles.

Whether you are operating online or offline, having a strategy and structure for dealing with your business is crucial for engaging the right audience and achieving successful results.

Regarding network marketers, most struggle with prospecting, particularly in the cold market and online. Susan Jeffers’ quote, “Feel the Fear and do it anyway,” helped me overcome challenges in both areas. I remember experiencing a 95% sales success rate when conducting product demos on Facebook. You may wonder why it was so successful. I kept it honest and shared my genuine excitement for the product.

Moreover, my high belief level played a significant role; it didn’t matter how polished my post looked. I focused on showcasing results and facts consistently across multiple platforms. Back then, I didn’t know much about algorithms or other technical aspects. However, I recognized the importance of being active and doing whatever it took for enough people to see my posts and engage with me regularly. Since live videos weren’t available then, I uploaded pre-recorded videos.

Some important notes about social media marketing include understanding the suitable platform style for you and your business, adhering to etiquette, and, most importantly, maintaining consistency so that people can get to know, like, and trust you. It’s crucial not to post and ghost or engage inconsistently for your convenience.

If you are running a business, it’s about consistently showing up and providing value to others.

Let’s look at three different platforms with the latest Google statistics and facts.

Facebook, founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, boasts 2.95 billion monthly users. India leads regarding Facebook users, and 71.43% of the US uses the platform. The highest user age group falls between 25 and 34 years. The unique aspect of Facebook is its ability to connect and share with others simultaneously. It offers personal timeline profiles, pages for yourself or your businesses (or both), groups, stories, and reels. Facebook ads and post boosts can help generate more leads. It’s important to remember that it’s not just about what you post; equally important in commenting, liking, and sharing other people’s posts too.

Additionally, keep your “About” information continuously updated.

A well-crafted profile attracts the right people. Avoid excessively promoting your products on your timelines, as nobody cares about your stuff; people are busy promoting their content. The best approach is to share the value and benefits of your offerings with factual evidence and social proof, following the 80/20 rule.

LinkedIn, founded in 2003 by Reid Hoffman and currently led by Ryan Roslansky, LinkedIn has over 930 million users. This platform is mainly designed for business networking. Unfortunately, many network marketers still underutilize LinkedIn. I have gained numerous business opportunities and valuable contacts through this platform. LinkedIn allows you to create a strong profile, utilizing Creator Mode to highlight your specialized work area. It is an excellent space for your resume if you are seeking employment. You can also establish a page and a group and create compelling articles while gaining subscribers for your channel. However, it’s essential to maintain a professional approach, adhere to the platform’s etiquette, and refrain from misusing marketing techniques or spamming activities, which may result in being restricted on LinkedIn.

A single click on LinkedIn can connect you with thousands of members quickly.

I also utilize a unique extension on my LinkedIn that helps me understand potential clients’ buying behavior and personality, enabling me to close more deals in less time. LinkedIn is one of my favorite platforms as it is a powerful network to build your business effortlessly.

Lastly, I want to highlight the power of TikTok. It may not be everyone’s ‘cup of tea’ but the potential to grow your audience and business is huge on this platform, but here are some statistics to understand why it has become one of the fastest-growing platforms. Founded in 2015 and launched in 2016 by Chinese company ByteDance, TikTok is particularly popular among millennials worldwide. It has over 1.6 billion users globally, with the majority being female (57%). The platform’s popularity lies in its ability to educate and entertain through various creative templates and options to make your posts stand out. Many millionaires are being created on this platform, with significant potential for selling products and services. You can create your own shopping channel, post videos, and go live. It’s ideal for those who enjoy watching videos to learn and be entertained simultaneously.

These are just brief insights into three of the many platforms available, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok, that can be utilized to grow your audience and build a business. There are several others, like Instagram and Twitter, but delving into them would take much longer, and we will be here all night.

Here are a few key points to note as you build a successful Social Media presence.

  1. Establish a strategy and structure for each Social Media Platform.
  2. Tell more stories, i.e., case studies or a successful result.
  3. The most effective conversion is the Direct personalized messages.
  4. Follow relevant profiles and use relevant words or hashtags for your target audience.
  5. Posts on relevant time zones worldwide – Time Buddy is a good app.
  6. Check your competitors and stay ahead of trends and offers
  7. Offer incentives, freebies, and special offers time-sensitive to build an audience
  8. Create, promote, educate, and entertain with catchy headlines and graphics
  9. Do more videos as they are more popular for people to engage better.
  10. Show appreciation to people that are engaging with you. Share testimonials and social proof.

Enjoy social media socially, personally, and professionally with confidence,
