Lessons from Our Lord Jesus Christ 

Introduction: The Greatest Networker in the world without a doubt winning hands down is our Lord Jesus Christ. From the time He started to build His organization until the time He was crucified, it only took 3.5 years and today this organization has over 2 billion and growing. That is to say, a third of the world’s population is His downline. Can anyone claim to have an organization as big as His? It is therefore only wise that if you want to be a great Networker, you must learn from the best. In this essay, I will write about how our Lord built His group and only briefly touch on every lesson I learned from Him. I will refrain or go into the details on the system I teach my organization so that I do not mess with the training of your organization.

1/ JESUS KNEW HIS MISSION. 

A/ JOHN 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (KJV)

He knew He was the bridge between the sinners and our Great Almighty God.

B/ JOHN 14:10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

He knew He came to complete the work of God.

C/ MARK 10:45 "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." (KJV)

He knew He came to pay for our sins so that we can have eternal life.

Lesson: Do you know your mission, the purpose why you joined network marketing? What are they? Do not be surprised by the number of distributors who join networking without knowing why they signed up. Over the years I have heard reasons like this: i/ I signed up because my sponsor is my friend. ii/ I signed up to get rid of the pest. iii/ I signed up to give the business a try. iv/ I like the products, etc,etc,etc. The above reasons are not going to ever make you a great networker. Why do you think many people join the business and quit just as fast? They do not even know why they signed up. For your information, traditional business people do not start a business venture without knowing why they do so or just to give it a try. If they do, very soon they will be around no more. You too should not join a network business without knowing why or just to give the opportunity a try. If your reason is because you like the products, you are a consumer or, at best, a great retailer and with this reason it is not going to make you a great networker.

Story: How come you come There was an old Chinese man whose name was “Too old to come”. One day, “Too old to come” took a new wife who was very young and her name was “Too young to come”. A year later, they had a baby and they named him, “How come you come”. Let me help you. Here are some of the reasons or motivations you should think about:

i/ Network marketing may be the only business option available for you and without it you may never ever be able to have a business of your own. Realizing that without network marketing, you may have to work as an employee until you retire should be a great wake up call. Let me remind you that JOB means Just Over Broke. Look at the people around you who work for others their whole working life. Do you like what you see because that is you too if you make the same mistake and take the same route.

ii/ You understand the Law of Leverage, the most important secret to financial independence. If you only work with your own two hands you normally only have 8 working hours a day. The CEO, of Foxconn, the largest contract manufacturer who makes gadgets for companies like Apple, Dell, and Amazon, Mr. Terry Kuo, employs over a million people worldwide. Let us see how many hours he has a day. You: 8 hours a day. Mr. Kuo: 1,000,000 x 8 hours a day = 8,000,000 hours a day. Do you know how many hours you will have in a life time if you work 8 hours a day, 50 weeks a year for 40 years? 8 hours x 50 weeks x 40 years = 80,000 hours a lifetime vs. Mr. Kuo with 8,000,000 hours a day. Ouch! It is a fact that all traditional business owners who own their own business can never have a business where they can seriously multiply their time through others. A few employees maybe, but a few hundred or a few thousand is out of their league. Good employees may be promoted to higher positions to help their employers multiply their time in return for a higher salary.

iii/ A business opportunity where you can start part time. Many working people never dare venture into traditional businesses out of fear, as you have to jump in full time right away in most traditional businesses. It is also a fact that most traditional businesses do not let you make money right away. Even if you do not intend to go into the business full time, I am sure you will agree that extra part time income is a great idea in this very difficult and unstable economic environment today.

iv/ Another great reason may be your love for your spouse and family. You are willing to pay the price so that you can give them a better lifestyle, a mortgage-free home, vacations, better school for the children etc.

v/ What’s about things for yourself? A dream home for yourself, vacations whenever and wherever you like, buying things for yourself without having to look at the price tag, servants to pamper you so no more housework and having to take out the garbage, to eat in any restaurants you love and drive there in your Porsche or Ferrari or Lamborghini. All because you do not believe in living a mediocre life and are willing to pay the price using this great business called MLM as a vehicle to your dreams. Find what is going to motivate you my Friend.

vi/ What about doing Networking because you love and enjoy this business and do not want to do anything else. Of course yours truly is also one of them.

So do you know your mission/purpose/reason why you joined network marketing? Unless you know the answer to this question, the rest of the essay may be irrelevant. What are they? Take 5 to 10 minutes to think and write them down before continuing reading the next topic.

2/ JESUS UNDERSTOOD THE IMPORTANCE OF DESIRE, BELIEF AND FAITH.

1 John 5:4 "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." (KJV)

Matthew 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." (KJV)

Matthew 9:29 "Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you." (KJV)

Matthew 8:13 "And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour." (KJV)

Matthew 17:20 "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." (KJV)

Lesson: You must start by believing and know that doubt is your worst enemy in this business. There are many who desire success but are defeated when they face doubt. Do you believe and have faith in the following:

i/ Do you believe you can be successful in this business? Business people do not go into a business believing they will fail.

ii/ Do you believe in the products sold by your company? Are the products reasonably priced? Network marketing is a channel to sell goods and services. Network marketing is not a place where we sell marketing plans or sell overpriced products to play the money game.

iii/ Do you believe you have joined a good and real Network Marketing company? You cannot be a great networker in a pyramid scheme. Yes, you may be a great pyramid scheme schemer but certainly not a great network marketer. Network marketing is not network gambling where you play the investment game.

iv/ Do you believe in the downlines you have sponsored? In my 30 years, I have heard a few idiots telling me something like this: “Eddy, I have sponsored a new downline Mr. “A” but I don’t think he will be successful.” If our Lord did not believe He could heal the sick they brought Him, do you think He will even bother healing them? If He did not believe that He is teaching The Word of Our Almighty God, do you think He will waste His time teaching the multitude? If you have no problem in your belief level, the next verse is very interesting. Do as instructed and the world is yours.

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." (KJV)

3/ JESUS ALSO UNDERSTOOD THE DANGERS OF WORRIES AND DOUBT.

Luke 8:50 "But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole." (KJV)

Matthew 6:32 "(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things." (KJV)

Luke 10:41-42 "And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her." (KJV)

Matthew 6:25-34  "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (KJV)

Matthew 14:25 "And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea." (KJV)

Matthew 14:28-32 "And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased." (KJV)

Lesson: Doubt is a very dangerous enemy. Doubt leads to fear and fear leads to inaction and nothing gets done. Have you noticed that Peter was doing okay until he began to doubt? Please note that it is very hard to try and reactivate a distributor who is consumed with doubt.

4/ JESUS WAS VERY COURAGEOUS.

Mark 10:45 "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."(KJV)

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (KJV)

Luke 12:4 "And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do." (KJV)

Lesson: Jesus knew He would be crucified but that did not stop Him from His work. So get rid of your fear of failure or fear of rejection when you work your business. I promise you one thing: Nobody is going to nail you to a cross for doing network marketing. If they do, I promise you, I will catch the first flight I can to say goodbye to you. The next verse is very useful to remember when you face rejection.

Matthew 10:14 "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet." (KJV)

Lesson: When people scorn and reject you, just shake the dust off your feet and move on. Next. Sometimes members of our family and close friends we love may reject us and we feel very discouraged. The next verse will help you if you know it happened to our Lord too. Stay focused.

Mark 6:1 -4 "And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house." (KJV)

Another great challenge many distributors face is when some of their downlines quit. Doubt sets in and many will quit. I've got good news for you. It happened to Our Lord too.

John 6:66-69 "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God." (KJV)

Lesson: From the verse above, it looks like Our Lord’s organization had totally collapsed and only 12 of His disciples were left. Did He quit? Of course not! He knew what His mission was. I bet even if the 12 quit, Our Lord will continue His mission. Others may quit but not you. Are you going to let others steal your dreams? You cannot forget that this may be your only business option. When people quit, keep on sponsoring new people. Just make sure your closest leaders believe and stay with you to the end.

5/ JESUS TAUGHT ABOUT BUILDING ON A SOLID FOUNDATION.

Matthew 7:24-27 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." (KJV)

Matthew 21:13 "And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." (KJV)

For this topic, I would like to also quote a few verses from the Old Testament for those involved in pyramid schemes.

Proverbs 28:19 "He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough." (KJV)

Jeremiah 17:11 "As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool." (KJV)

Proverbs 28:20 "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." (KJV)

Proverbs 28:22 "He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him." (KJV)

Lesson: Join a REAL NETWORK MARKETING COMPANY based on the principle that it is a channel to sell goods and services and not a PYRAMID SCHEME based on playing the money game. The foundation of your business is the type of Network Marketing Company you join. When you join a real network marketing company based on the principle that it is a channel to sell goods and services, you are building your organization on the rock. Should you make the mistake of building your business in a pyramid scheme company then you are building your foundation on sand and it will one day collapse. The numbers of leaders who tell stories of how big they were in pyramid scheme companies are a dime a dozen and if you really look at them you know they are poor. We also hear of how some these leaders boast about how they achieve the highest pin levels in the 3 or 5 companies they have joined. It is sad to see they are good builders but do not know how to chose the ground to build on. They built their houses on sand and one after another have collapsed. They do not know the sandy ground they used is not suitable to build a house on. I wonder how many more they can build and see all of them collapse before they get burnt out. Woe betides those who know. How can they not think about the trail of destruction they have caused to many of the downlines who love and respect them? Network marketing is a business opportunity for many who may have no other options. How can these thieves steal from the unfortunate? They have made MLM into “a den of robbers.”

Inexperienced distributors, be warned. When you are invited to attend a pyramid scheme event you must recognize the wolves in sheep’s clothing. Here is a verse to help you.

Matthew 7:15-20 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (KJV)

Oh! By the way, are you a wolf in sheep’s clothing yourself? PLEASE READ 1 TO 5 AGAIN BEFORE CONTINUING TO READ THE REST OF THE ESSAY. GET YOUR HEAD STRAIGHT FIRST ON THE FIRST 5 POINTS OR ELSE, READING THE REST OF THE ESSAY MAY BE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME.

6/ JESUS STARTED BY SPONSORING WIDE VERY QUICKLY.

Matthew 4:18-19 "And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." (KJV)

Matthew 4:21-22 "And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him." (KJV)

Matthew 9:9 "And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him." (KJV)

Matthew 10:2-4 "Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him." (KJV)

Please note the following: i/ Jesus sponsored 4 disciples in one day. Peter, Andrew, James and John. ii/ In between Matthew the tax collector he sponsored Philip, Bartholomew and Thomas. iii/ Then James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot. He completed His group of 12 disciples in no time at all.

Lesson: Learn how to conduct opportunity meetings and start sponsoring immediately. Sponsor fast and wide. The most common mistake made by many distributors is sponsoring too slowly and only sponsoring 1 or 2 front lines hoping that these downlines will do the rest. You must sponsor wide very quickly. Jesus sponsored 4 disciples in one day. What’s about at least sponsoring 4 frontlines in your first month? If you can do more than 4 please go ahead but not less. Can I also challenge you to sponsor 12 frontlines in less than 6 months?

Lesson: You must sponsor wide. Sponsoring 1 or 2 people is that attitude of distributors who hope to find a money tree to make them rich. To them, MLM is like playing the lottery to try their luck. They are not really serious or committed to the business and are normally a bunch of lazy people. Enjoy the business and make sponsoring a natural and enjoyable thing because you are helping people who need this business. Story: Your legs must be wide. A very beautiful lady downline asked her male upline, “How can I make a lot of money in network marketing.” The upline answered, “ Your legs must be wide.” She slapped him.

John 7:24 "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." (KJV)

Luke 20:17 "And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?" (KJV)

Lesson: Do not judge your prospects. Have you noticed the first four disciples, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John all were but fishermen? Note: He even sponsored Judas Iscariot whom He knew would betray Him. Please do not judge your prospects as to who is suitable or who is not. Sponsor everyone.

7/ JESUS WENT EVERYWHERE WITH HIS DISCIPLES TO SPONSOR OTHERS.

Mark 1:38 "And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth." (KJV)

Mark 2:1 "And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them." (KJV)

Mark 2:13 "And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him." (KJV)

Mark 3:1 "And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him." (KJV)

Mark 3:7-8 "But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him." (KJV)

Lesson: I have just used the first few verses in the Book of Mark to show you Our Lord’s schedule, where He went and how hard He worked. Go to the people. Do not just wait for your downlines to bring the people to you. If you read the Bible, you can notice Jesus went everywhere: The marketplace, the synagogue, the countryside, the fishermen, town to town and people’s homes. He did not stay in one place and say, “come to me” or ask His disciples to just bring people to Him. Also note He always had a few or all of His disciples with Him wherever He went.

8/ JESUS UNDERSTOOD THE IMPORTANCE OF FOLLOW UP AND TEACHING HIS DOWNLINES. HE TAUGHT MANY THINGS.

PLEASE READ MATTHEW CHAPTER 5. THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT. MATTHEW CHAPTERS 6 AND CHAPTER 7 TO OBSERVE SOME OF HIS TEACHINGS. I DO ENCOURAGE ALL TO READ THE NEW TESTAMENT, THE GOSPELS MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE AND JOHN TO LEARN ALL THE THINGS JESUS TAUGHT. Lesson: You must teach your organization how to do the business if you want to be a great networker. Ask your uplines for help if you do not know how yet. It is irresponsible to tell others you do not know how or what to teach your group after you have been in the business for a few years.

i/ Goal setting.

j/ How to conduct a one to one opportunity meeting.

9/ JESUS WAS VERY CHARISMATIC AND KNEW HOW TO SPONSOR AND TEACH LARGE AUDIENCES AND THEY COME TO HIM.

Matthew 4:25 "And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan." (KJV)

Matthew 14:13 "When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.
14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick." (KJV)

Matthew 14:17-21 "And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children." (KJV)

Matthew 15:34-38 "And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children." (KJV)

Note: Jesus knew how to make His teaching interesting by telling stories and parables. If your trainings or meetings are dull and lack excitement, learn and improve them.

Matthew 13:34 "All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them" (KJV)

Lesson: All High Pins and Group Leaders.

Be so good that when people hear your name they come. The tickets for meeting and rallies you organize are always sold out. Keep on learning and improving your communication skill no matter how successful you are. This is a responsibility if you understand the importance of motivation in relation to the growth of your organization and the organization of your downlines. 10/ JESUS KNEW THE IMPORTANCE OF DELEGATION. HE UNDERSTOOD HE COULDN’T BE THE ONLY ONE DOING ALL THE WORK. HE KNEW HIS DISCIPLES OR HIS MASTERMIND GROUP MUST GO OUT AND SPONSOR TOO. IT IS ALSO INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT HIS MASTERMIND GROUP IS WITH HIM MOST OF THE TIME AND HE PERSONALLY TAUGHT THEM MANY THINGS. IT IS ALSO INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT BEFORE OUR LORD SENT HIS DISCIPLES OUT, HE TAUGHT AND GAVE THEM INSTRUCTIONS. I HAVE COPIED THIS WHOLE VERY LONG MATTHEW CHAPTER 10 TO DRIVE INTO YOUR HEAD THAT TEACHING AND GIVING CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS TO YOUR LEADERS BEFORE SENDING THEM OUT TO DO BATTLE IS VERY IMPORTANT. IT TAKES TIME AND PATIENCE. TEACHING A GOOD LEADER IS TEDIOUS WORK. YOU NEED NOT READ ALL THE VERSES, JUST THE IDEA THAT YOU MUST BE A RESPONSIBLE LEADER.

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve

Matthew 10:1 "And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward."
