The Seven Types of Motivation
Did you know that motivation comes in seven distinct forms, categorized broadly as intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation stems from the heart and soul, driving us to improve ourselves. On the other hand, extrinsic motivation is fueled by external rewards that await us, enticing us to achieve specific goals.
Competence Motivation:
This internal motivation is all about expanding our skills and knowledge. If you find yourself motivated by the desire to learn and grow, then is your motivation type!
Attitude Motivation:
Becoming the person we aspire to be defines attitude motivation. If you're motivated to change your attitude and approach to challenges, this is your motivation type!
Achievement Motivation:
Achievement motivation is driven by the internal satisfaction of accomplishing goals. If you find joy in triumphing over challenges and achieving more for the sake of personal satisfaction, this is your motivation type.
Affiliation Motivation:
This is a form of external motivation and it surfaces when we desire to belong to a group or community. Whether it's joining a team or being part of a network marketing community, affiliation motivation plays a significant role. If you resonate with this, then this is your motivation type!
Power Motivation:
Power motivation involves the desire to control and influence, either over oneself or others. It's crucial to use power motivation responsibly. If you feel motivated by having control over your life or influencing others positively, then this is your motivation type.
Fear Motivation:
Fear, when used momentarily to avoid pain or push through challenges, can be a powerful motivator. However, it's essential to be aware of when fear becomes paralyzing. Short bursts of fear can lead to growth, but sustained fear may hinder progress so this is not the most effective form of motivation.
Incentive Motivation:
This external motivation is driven by the allure of rewards, prizes, or recognition. While there's nothing wrong with seeking external incentives, it's vital not to rely solely on them.
If you find that you are motivated by more than one of these 7 types of motivation, then you are likely to be successful. Understanding and acknowledging the diverse motivations that propel us forward is a game-changer in the world of network marketing...
