Have you joined a network marketing company but don’t have any idea how to attract team members and sell products?
Chances are that your company has a line up of sales tools to help you.
They don’t, you say?
Well, our profession has some awesome sales tools that are generic in nature that can help you, too.
Let me give you a couple examples of using sales tools to help you build your business.
Let’s say in this example that you are selling widgets. Some “sales tools” that you might expect to find might include: a one sheet of facts about the benefits of the widget. Usually, one sheets can be found on the product page or in the “back office” section of the company’s web site.
A one sheet can be used in many ways to get useful, valuable information to people that might need or want your widget.
I like to take a screenshot of the one sheet so that I have it as a .jpg file so that I can upload it into my SendOutCards account and use it in a card to send to people I think might benefit from my widget.
I can also use the .jpg to post on social media either on my regular wall as an information post or in my customer VIP group as product information.
Many times, a company selling widgets will also have a short video available on YouTube that promotes their widget and you can copy that link and use the video to tell people that you are now representing the widget company. (be sure to include your URL)
Other sales tools you might find for widgets might include books about widgets in general – which would be like third party confirmation of the value of widgets. Magazine articles about the value of widgets or people using widgets are great, too.
The idea is that you aren’t just relying on your words – you can use what someone else has already created to attract people to try a widget or to build a team with you of other people selling widgets.
Many years ago, the use of tools included DVDs, magazines, books and more.
The format has changed, but the idea remains the same: get you and your product/service in front of many people with the credibility of a professionally produced “tool”.
In my own career, I was fortunate enough to be featured in Avon’s DVD that was included in the starter kits. It was entitled “The Rich & Famous of Avon” and I was one of the featured Avon Representatives. Avon sent a camera crew to my house and filmed for a whole day. Believe me, I used the heck out of that DVD building my team.
If you ever get the opportunity to be included in a company produced video, say YES. Even if you are not featured, using a video or newsletter or whatever tools your company has is an easy way to give your business credibility and look bigger than it is.
Being featured in Avon’s DVD made me appear more knowledgeable than I actually was. People would say “she must know a lot about the business if she’s featured in the video!”
With technology as it is today, you also can have that same effect by having your own podcast or sending out your own newsletter where you write the articles. You can also write articles for industry magazines (like this one) or send articles for consideration to your company for their newsletter.
You’d be surprised how often your articles will get run – and then you can use them to distribute everywhere.
