Most of us when not creating the results we want in our business or life immediately focus on strategies or tactics. We look for a new ‘how.’ But, the most powerful creative source in your life is your purpose.

Purpose eats strategy for breakfast!

When your purpose is strong enough, you will figure out how. When your passion for your purpose in working your network marketing business is strong enough, you will succeed.

One of the most meaningful and life-changing books I’ve ever read is Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl. Frankl was one of the pre-eminent psychologists of the 20th Century. The book tells of the horrors of his years as a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp during WWII. The life lessons, wisdom, and insights Frankl reveals are incredibly powerful. But one sticks out the strongest to me.

Frankl makes a startling discovery about those who survived the almost indescribable cruelty, abuse, and deprivation of the camp. He says that the difference between those few who made it through and the thousands who perished came down to one thing…those who survived had a purpose left undone. Purpose gave them breath. Purpose alone sustained them. Whether it was a child they felt they must get back to, or work they alone felt they must complete, it was an unstoppable purpose that kept them going.

In network marketing, the purpose is every bit as crucial if you are to flourish. No strategy or tactic will sustain success in network marketing unless the irrepressible purpose is alive and constant in your spirit.

When he was in his eighties, Winston Churchill was invited back to Eton, his alma mater, to deliver the graduation address. As he stepped up to the microphone, the excitement was palpable in the auditorium. Everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting to hear the great man enthrall them with one of his eloquent and expansive orations.

He stood for a moment looking out at the bright young faces and then said: “Young men…. never, never, never give up.” And then he sat down. Seven words. That was all.

Only those with unstoppable purpose will never, never, never give up!

So, if you are not achieving your dreams and goals, dig deep into your purpose. Because when that is strong enough, you will figure out how.

In my nearly 1,900 breakthrough presentations over the past 32 years, I have had almost a million participants break through one-inch-thick wooden boards as an unforgettable experience of applying breakthrough beliefs in a real-life, tangible way. I have every participant get clear about their breakthrough purpose by identifying the obstacle they are ready to breakthrough. They write this fear, obstacle, habit, or doubt on the front of their board. On the back of the board they envision and then write down what’s waiting for them when they HAVE broken through.

When I broke my first board, I wrote the word “procrastination” in big letters on the front of my board. Before I broke that first board, my dream was to write a book. I love to write. I feel it’s my best form of communication. Yet, I always found a way to put my dream off, to procrastinate… “I’ll write my book when the kids get older. I’ll write my book when I’ve saved up some money. I’ll write my book when I have more time on my hands.” What was the real reason I didn’t write my book? What was underneath that procrastination jamming it in my face every day? FEAR! The same thing, in fact, the ONLY thing that can hold you back from succeeding in network marketing.

What if I can’t do it? What if I fail? What if I try and it turns out terrible? That’s why I was procrastinating.

Suddenly that day, when challenged to get clear about my obstacle, I knew my real purpose. It was to break through my fear and live my dream. And so, on the back of my board, I wrote down what would be waiting for me when I broke through. I wrote: “Freedom, abundance, and truth to my word.” I was filled with a clear and compelling purpose. I had absolute conviction that when I broke that board and wrote my book I would bring my family great abundance, we would have freedoms we never knew before, and every day of my life I would be living my word instead of lying to myself.

So, when I stepped forward to breakthrough that day, my board had transformed. It was no longer a piece of wood in front of me. It was everything that was keeping me from living my dream and writing my book...

I must tell you, when I broke that board that day it felt GOOD! In fact, it felt like a piece of paper. I promise you, that when you break your board at my event, it will feel like a piece of paper! (When you don’t break it, it will feel a lot like a board! Truth is truth!)

When I broke it that day it felt incredibly good. But the best part was, thirty-one days from the day I broke that first board, I finished the first chapter of my first book, Beyond Success. And, I didn’t stop writing that book for eighteen months until it was done. And that book, nine years after I started it, climbed as high as number sixteen on Amazon.com from over two million titles. Since that time, I’ve written fifteen more books. It’s made an awesome difference for my family, my career, and my spirit. And, your breakthrough will be a million times more impactful for your family, your career, and your life! That’s what happens when you fill with purpose.

So, how can you bring more purpose into your daily life? Inch by inch, anything’s a cinch! So, for the next thirty days, I invite you to bring this first Breakthrough Belief alive. Begin each morning by asking this purpose-filling question. Ask yourself, “What am I truly GRATEFUL about today?” The word has a secret in it (especially if you’re not big on spelling!). What you’re grateful about has within it the capacity to make you GREAT-FULL! What you’re grateful for will focus you on your priorities.

Your priorities are the magic pathway to purpose!
